Disney-Inspired
Designer Anne Hepfer believes children's spaces are not only meant to be fun—they should also stimulate their imagination. For a playroom design, Hepfer chose to a simple chair and table set in white, but used framed movie posters to inject a bit of personality into the design. "Even if it's a favorite Disney movie poster, it must speak to the child," Hepfer says. "And as the child grows and develops, the art can be swapped out for a better age-appropriate piece."

The pink sofa is by Jonathan Adler, the multicolored 1980s table is by Milo Baughman, and the 1960s fiberglass chairs are Italian.

Pretty in Pink
The playroom in Carolyn Pressly's home boasts a modern and playful design furnished with a yellow-toned Turkish modular sofa that turns into a "megabed" and counterbalances the pinks of the room."In the playroom, I added a doorway to give the kids a sense of personal space and homeyness. Just like in the office, the playroom has cork floors, which is not only kid friendly, but also helps create a natural transition between the spaces," says the designer.
